In our K-1 curriculum, we have 45 minutes of Writing Workshop twice per week, where the students have the opportunity to create their own books and put their imagination into writing. Today, I ran across one of the published books from one of my K-1 students and I could not help but marvel at her creativity and humor. Of course, I had to take pictures of it from my Iphone to share with Greg. I wish I could read it aloud for you with the correct elocution...but I guess my translation above each picture would have to suffice. She's just so darn cute =)
Title - "I Got Married"

A Special Dedication To: I Don't Know

I was walking down the street and guess

what!? I found the best person and I said,

"Will you marry me?" And he said, "Yes." Ohh..la...la

We went home. We both lived in an apartment.

We were so happy. The next day we got

engaged. I got a ring.

We had a plan. We both ran back home.

The next day we got married. I had a

child. A girl. Her name is Lindsay.

The next day I took her to baby school.

She was crying. Wow what a baby!

She said her first word. It was "No."

Hahaha! I love her. Such a cutie! If only it was that easy to find a hubby!
I love this, Tam! We do Writer's Workshop every morning for 45 minutes and I LOVE reading all the stories. One of the girls wrote one called "It's raining love" It was so sweet I got teary-eyed. Another one wrote "The Attack of the Cheez-It." I'll have to share it with you sometime. It's nice having a fellow teacher friend =)
