A New Beginning....
On Friday, June 29th Greg and I took a trip to San Francisco to visit friends and family. It started off with the both of us on the 9pm flight from Burbank to Oakland. To help pass time, we played "You Don't Know Me, (blank)," a game we learned from one of my leading ladies. The game was definitely appropriate for what was in stored for us that night. Basically, we get to ask each other questions back and forth. For each question we missed and did not know about that person, the person asking would receive a point. However, we tweaked the game a bit and instead of utilizing points, we counted minutes of massage.
With the goal of receiving a 30 minute massage after the plane ride, it was on! =) I was mustering up random questions that I probably never discussed with Greg about my family to how many Q-tips I use in the morning and etc. It was an opportunity for me to learn about him as well. We ended the flight with my score of 11 minutes and his score of 7 minutes. Not too shabby considering we asked an hour worth of questions. It was a lot of fun, there was a period where we were both giggling for a whole 5 minutes on one of his questions. It was on how many Q-tips he used and I guessed 3. But I was completely wrong, he uses 4 - one for his left ear, the second one for his right ear, third one for his belly button and the last one I missed! It's because I have mouse ears and could not figure out his last Q-tip. It was for the outer crater for both of his ears..lol
Once we landed and picked up our car, we headed towards the W Hotel in SF. Walking into the hotel room, I noticed rose petals in the hallway leading up to the bed, chocolate covered strawberries, Moet champagne with two glasses in an ice bucket, a set of three orchids that stood for past, present and future and in the background, Kenny G "Forever In Love" was playing. I turned back to Greg and asked him "Are we in the wrong room? What's going on?"
I dropped my bag, my eyes widened and I gasped, "Greg, what's going on? OMG! Are you proposing?"
I asked him again to pinky swear me that it was not what I was thinking because I had no idea of what was going to happen. I think I was just in a state of shock and Greg was down in both knees. Everything happened so fast and it was so sweet.
When I looked into his eyes while he was talking to me, I never felt so touched and lucky in my life. I couldn't believe it was happening.
As he said, "Tam, you are my best friend and I want to spend the rest of my life with you....." my right hand was on the left side of his face and I was smiling. I was completely overjoyed at this point and it ended with me saying under my breath, "yes.."
We hugged, laughed and etc...I could have not asked for a better surprise engagement. So much thought and love was put towards it. Thanks so much Greggy for being you, I'm excited to grow old with you! =)
After the proposal, Greg had SF's famous frozen yogurt from the cafe a block or two away delivered to our room. We ate and started calling our family and letting our friends know of our news!
My mom was hilarious, she called me afterwards and left a message for the both of us, "I know you two are really happy right now, but please don't be too happy at the hotel."
I'll always be 14 to her right? =)
Here are the pics from the nite! Just wanted to also take this time to thank all of our family and friends who has been a part of our life thus far. We would not have become the person we are today without knowing you. Looking forward to celebrate our first milestone with all of you. Love you all and always sending you our best!
